Muscat Muscat de Rivesaltes 1993

TERROIR: Hautes Terrasses: quaternary stone terraces with shallow soil and low water reserves that lead to low yields.

WINE: With its adjoining enclosed plot, the vineyard at Château les Pins now boasts 95 acres of vines, including nine acres of Muscat. The exceptional nature of this unique Muscat makes it one of the designation’s stars and imbues it with excellent keeping potential.

GRAPE VARIETIES: 50% Muscat à Petits Grains, 50% Muscat d’Alexandrie

MATURATION: On fine lees for four to six months before bottling. Matured in-bottle in air-conditioned cellars.

TASTING NOTES: The beautiful tawny amber shade reveals a medley of flavours: black tea, bitter orange, watermelon jam and coffee. The aromas of old cognac, date, candied orange and coconut eventually give way to a mouth with rare balance and length.
